The Small Studio is a work of love and necessity (nothing fit!) created by Hanan, who is the artistic director of Smoke, and of
Gulbahar, its student troupe.
Smoke is a Tribal Bellydance troupe based at the Intuit Dance Studio in Oak Park, Illinois. We work with cued improvisation in a
joyful, non-diva environment; we are strong, intelligent, beautiful dancers of varied backgrounds united by our love of tribal dance. We
are a dynamic group dedicated to bringing tribal bellydance to a wider audience; we have worked together as Smoke since 2006.
Hanan (Samantha Brenneman) is now a fully accredited Sister Studio of Fat Chance Bellydance, along with her collaborator
Pamela Hrynko. This achievement is the culmination of years of hard work on both our parts, for a goal we thought worthy of
attainment: to bring ATS, in its full integrity, to Chicago.
