Take a class!

Learn ATS® from a Fat Chance Sister Studio! One of the things we love best about this cued improv form of dance is its
portability… if you have learned your American Tribal Style® steps, cues and combinations, you can dance them with other ATS®
dancers wherever they are found, worldwide.

This is a strong, elegant dance meant to showcase the power and beauty of women. Its roots are in northern India, and points west,
following the Roma and other related, often nomadic groups around the Mediterranean, through the Balkans and all the way to
Spain. Although ATS® has recognizable elements from Indian dance, north African dance, and flamenco, all have been transformed
to fit into a unified, integrated vision. This dance is the life work of Carolena Nericcio, who is my personal mentor as a dancer.

I teach at three venues: the LaGrange YMCA, Intuit Dance Studio, and Triton College, with special offerings and workshops at
Wonderwall Emporium.

Sunday at Intuit: From 2:45 to 4:15, Level One (Love Your Belly), a beginning class with drills and breakdowns. Bring water, wear
close-fitting but unconfining clothing. Note: I will be teaching zils (finger cymbals) starting with the third class.
4:15 to 5:15, Level Two, advanced steps and combinations with formation work.  Instructor permission required.
5:15– 6:15, Troupe rehearsal.

Monday at Triton College: 7 to 8 pm, Level One, followed by club fun and practice in the studio.

Tuesday at Wonderwall: events as announced. Currently we are working on Tight Quarters No Mirrors practice, meant to help
shape new performers for typical conditions. This is a closed practice, but other events are also offered there periodically.

Wednesday at Triton College: 8pm to 9pm, Level Two. Instructor permission required.

Thursday at the Y in LaGrange: Drop in drills and steps, 8:40 to 9:40 pm. What you will learn depends on who is present! Always
a good tune up and workout.

Saturday at Triton College: Level One from 11 to noon.
